Rob Cottingham to leave Touchstone: As you know, the November Touchstone shows will be the end of an era, and even more so now, as Lord Cotters has decided to announce his departure from the band.

In a statement, Rob said:

"It has been a privilege to see Touchstone grow from strength to strength from the very early days when I kicked the band off with a totally different line up in a small village hall

After recent discussions within the band, however, the time is clearly right for me to bow out gracefully at the same time as Kim.

I want to thank my bandmates old and new for everything, and especially to wish Adam, Moo, Kim, and Hen every success in their exploits going forward.

I also especially want to thank my family and those close supporters who have been there with us since the start - you know who you are.

Regarding the future, whilst it will be the end of this musical journey - it will be the start of an exciting new one. I look forward to making more announcements later in the year.

In the meantime, however, thank you so much to all of you who have supported us in one way or another. We would never have dreamed that we would eventually play around the UK; in Europe and even in the USA, or that we would share a stage with the likes of Focus, Asia, Steve Hackett and Marillion to name but a few...and... we would never have dreamed that our last two albums would hit the UK Official Rock Album Charts.

Your love, loyalty, respect and support has truly meant everything over the years."

Moo from Touchstone said "the two November shows were already going to be a big deal for us due to the imminent departure of Elkie, and these have now been made even bigger a deal, as Lord Cotters has also decided to move on. We're very happy that the cameras will be rolling at Leamington to record this defining moment in the band's history, and hope that many of you will join us in giving Elkie & Lord Cotters the send off that they rightly deserve."

More information about Touchstone ongoing coming soon..................... . . ... . . . . . . ... .. . . . . . . .REDHEAD IS COMING

We are super excited to announce that Touchstone will be playing the Prog Stage on saturday.

Here's what they had to say! We are absolutely thrilled to have been invited to play at the inaugural
Ramblin’ Man Festival! Our performance at the first High Voltage festival was one of the first outings with our current line up, so it’s a happy co-incidence that circumstances dictate that one of our last gigs together
will be at the next big festival, Ramblin’ Man!
We’re looking forward to meeting friends, old & new and giving a performance to be remembered prior to our final two shows in November,
when one more chapter of the Touchstone story comes to a close and the next is opened. We’ll also be joined on stage by an incredibly special guest to wave off with!
See you there, it’s going to get rowdy!!

Further to the previous news that Magenta will be our Special Guests for the Leamington Assembly show, we have great pleasure in announcing, the most wonderfully talented John Mitchell will be our exclusive special guest at our London Show on Friday 21st November! He will be performing some of the songs from his most recent release, the critically acclaimed Lonely Robot album, "Please Come Home", and will also be appearing in the lineup for the Leamington Assembly show on Saturday 21st November.

Only a few of us were lucky enough to see him perform these songs stripped back at his recent album launch event in London and we wanted to find an opportunity for more people to enjoy the songs performed like this and this is the perfect excuse!

John will be joined by pianist & keyboard player Liam Holmes, who also appeared on the Lonely Robot album. They will be playing an extended set at the London show so there may be a few It Bites and Kino songs getting an airing too!

Tickets are selling fast for the London show so we advise buying in advance to avoid disappointment, and remember, at the Leamington show, there will be the Entity after-show Prog Party Nightclub, for which more details will be coming soon.

MAGENTA to play Touchstone's Leamington Farewell Show and confirm filming for future release.

Following the previous news of Touchstone's farewell shows in November, we are very pleased and excited to announce that our good friends Magenta will be joining us as our Very Special Guests for the Leamington Spa Assembly concert on Saturday 21st November. We plan an early start as both bands will be performing FULL sets, specially selected for this event.

Both performances will be recorded and filmed for future a DVD release, we have a big production planned in this amazing venue which has incredible lights and sound system.

Adam from Touchstone commented, "it's really special to be doing this concert with Magenta, as some of our best early shows were with them at The Point in Cardiff and we have such a long history together. We're looking forward also to a special all band jam at the end; I have a feeling there might also be some other party crashers…"

Rob Reed from Magenta. "We've been looking forward to filming a new DVD with the current line up and it's been almost 10 years since our last DVD. The Assembly in Leamington is a great venue, it looks and sounds fantastic. Playing with Touchstone will make the evening a treat for fans and members of both bands."

More news will follow soon regarding the London guests and the after-show party.

Further to the recent news that Touchstone is going on hiatus we are very pleased to announce by popular demand two final shows for this line-up in November.

We had originally thought to perform at HRH Prog and then dive into the mothball pit but we, individually and as a band, received a lot of messages asking for a proper "last" gig.

We will be venturing to pastures new for our first gig, it will be held at the Boston Music Room in London. The second of the two, The Assembly in Leamington Spa, we have tried to make it as central as possible for people to travel to.

We are intent on making these a couple of gigs to remember and will be inviting some special guests to join us, and we're really looking forward to a couple of special party nights!

The dates are:

Friday 20th November 2015 Boston Music Room - London

Saturday 21st November 2015 The Assembly - Leamington Spa

Tickets are available via the venue websites and following the Live link on the Touchstone website.

We would like to thank you all for your messages of support and hope to see as many of you as possible at the gigs!!

from the band....

We've had an unprecedented number of messages with regard to our final gig with this line up on Friday. Whist HRH will be fantastic and we seriously can't wait to play it, very many are disappointed to not be able to make it to Wales where the festival is held and feel that many loyal followers are missing out. For this reason, we're going to organise a dedicated farewell show later this year, so that everyone who has supported us amazingly over the years will have the chance to party with us with a bit more notice. More details will follow very soon.

Hello fellow Touchstoners…here follows a short statement from the band:

It is with regret that we announce the departure of Kim Seviour from Touchstone.

Kim has decided to leave due to ongoing medical issues. Here are a few words from her…"I'm sure that this will come as a shock to many people, and for that I'm very sorry. As many of you will know, I've dealt with a health condition, M.E for the last five years of being in Touchstone. The condition and the lifestyle changes that it has resulted in, including a move cross-country, have made it impossible for me to commit to Touchstone in the way that it truly deserves. I need to take time to concentrate on my health and getting myself back to peak condition. Who knows what lies ahead after. I love my boys to bits and we've shared many amazing adventures, which would have been impossible without the support of incredible music lovers, and friends such as yourselves. I wish the guys the very best and know that they will continue to make awesome music, which I fully support all the way. For those who can make it, I would love to see you and share a drink at HRH, which will be my last Touchstone gig. Thank you so much for everything, I love you all. God bless xxx"

All the band fully accept this situation and support her decision and we know that you will join us in wishing Kim all the very best for the future. We will still be in very close contact. It's been an amazing journey for all of us and we sincerely appreciate all the fantastic support from our fans and friends, given to us over the years.

Kim will be leaving after our performance at Hard Rock Hell on Friday 20th March, so if you want to get a last chance to see this lineup, it's a trip to North Wales…!!!

As for the future of Touchstone, there are no immediate plans for a new release; the band is currently on indefinite hold and remaining members will pursue other projects.

At some time in the future the Touchstone phoenix may arise again…

It is with great regret that due to family circumstances outside of the band's control, Touchstone have cancelled their Live Inside Outside DVD launch gigs in June 2014.

This has been a very tough decision to make, as we have never had to cancel any gigs before, do not want to let anyone down, and after our Trinity Live show, we were really looking forward to the launch gigs. Unfortunately, it is the only decision we could make when it involved supporting one of our band members through an unforeseen family illness.

Anyone who has purchased a ticket for The Borderline gig, on Friday 20th June 2014, your ticket will be valid for the special Christmas show on Friday 12th December 2014. If anyone requires a refund because they cannot attend that date, a full refund will be processed via the original point of purchase.

Similarly, if you purchased a ticket for The Robin 2 gig, on Sunday 22nd June 2014, your ticket will be valid for the special Christmas show there, on Sunday 14th December 2014. Again, if anyone requires a refund because they cannot attend that date, a full refund will be processed via the original point of purchase.

For those of you who have purchased a ticket for the CRS gig at Real Time Live in Chesterfield, on Saturday 21st June 2014, we are planning to reschedule a gig with the CRS but have yet to confirm a venue, or date, so please seek a refund from the original point of purchase for those tickets, and keep an eye open for the rescheduled date and venue.

Regarding the DVD, it will be released on Friday 4th July 2014 and in light of this announcement, we have also decided that the first 500 copies of the DVD will also ship with 1 of 500 Limited Edition signed copies of the Oceans EP. The EP contains a brand new song, Suffer The Little Children, plus 4 other previously unreleased tracks. Further details will be available very soon.

We are really excited to be playing at the Summer's End festival in September, and of course our special Christmas gigs on the 12th & 14th December at The Borderline and The Robin 2, respectively.

Thank you very much for your understanding and your fantastic support and we are really looking forward to being back on stage very soon.

Adam, Elkie, Hen, Moo, Rob

The inaugural Trinity tour – a triple-headliner featuring Magenta, Touchstone and The Reasoning – has been postponed as a result of Magenta vocalist Christina Booth’s cancer fightBut those who have bought tickets are being offered a consolation fundraising event, and the original shows will be rescheduled once her treatment is completed.

Booth revealed last month that she’d been diagnosed with breast cancer, forcing Magenta to call off a number of appearances in support of latest album The Twenty Seven Club.

Trinity shows had been planned for London’s Islington Assembly on Saturday, May 17 next year, and Leamington Spa’s Assembly on Sunday, May 18.

In a statement The Reasoning explain: “After much consideration it was decided that, rather than seeking to alter the intended line-up, it would be fair – and, more importantly, respectful – to postpone the shows until a later date.

“The shows will still take place at the same venues, and as soon as Christina is fit and well we will announce the revised dates.”

People who have purchased tickets for either show are invited to the Leamington venue on May 18 for an all-day event featuring The Reasoning and Touchstone, with all proceeds to be donated to cancer charities.

The statement continues: “Chris Lynch, the owner of Leamington Assembly, is very kindly giving us the bar profits from the show, while The Reasoning and Touchstone will waive their fees. All monies from ticket sales for the event will also go towards the cause.

“Additional bands will be added to the bill very soon, and extra events around the main show are being planned, to bring you a full day’s musical experience.

“We promise to deliver a day to remember and to raise some serious awareness and cash for something very important.”

Prog was in place as a proud sponsor of the Trinity tour, and we remain on board to support the fundraising event.

Leamington Spa’s Assembly on Sunday, May 18. - ALL DAY EVENT - DETAILS TBC

Touchstone are pleased to announce that the last day of the Oceans Of Time tour was filmed for future DVD release, more details will be announced soon but what we can say is the show was filmed and directed by the talented Mr Rob Reed (Magenta fame), using an 8 camera shoot and high quality audio recording. The plan is to release the DVD with an audio CD of the soundtrack. Extras will include the never before released full set from High Voltage, other goodies include a "making off" documentary of Oceans Of Time, plus interviews and some very cool computer graphics, no release date has been set but a 3 date tour will be arranged to support its release. Pre-orders will be announced soon – watch this space…

Two of the UK's most rapidly rising progressive/melodic hard rock acts TOUCHSTONE and THE REASONING have announced that they are to join forces for a co-headline tour of Europe this autumn.

The ten-date "Adventures In The City" tour unites the two bands as The Reasoning prepare their new studio album 'Adventures In Neverland' for September 2012, and Touchstone celebrate the release of their back catalogue and new album 'The City Sleeps', which entered the UK rock charts at No.36 on its release at the end of 2011. It will also mark an important year for the bands, having both recently signed new record deals (Touchstone with German label SPV/Steamhammer and The Reasoning with Cherry Red's dynamic front-line label Esoteric Antenna).

Both Touchstone and The Reasoning have enjoyed a busy and successful eighteen months after each being asked to open the inaugural High Voltage Festival in London's Victoria Park playing alongside legendary acts such as ELP, ZZ Top and Black Label Society. This year alone, both bands' respective front women Kim Seviour and Rachel Cohen have been awarded plaudits for being amongst the top ten female vocalists of 2011 by Classic Rock Presents Prog Magazine and the Classic Rock Society readers and critics.

The two bands are excited to be heading out on the road together for what will be their biggest headline tour yet:

"It's been nearly half a decade since the last time we shared a stage with The Reasoning" explains Touchstone guitarist Adam Hodgson. "Getting to play out in Europe properly as well as in the UK with some great friends will be amazing."

The Reasoning's bassist Matt Cohen comments: "Touchstone and The Reasoning have developed so much as artists over the years so the versions you see today are lean, mean rocking machines with more fire and drive than ever before. We are going to bring you one hell of a gig experience! The New Avengers of Prog are coming to a city near you in 2012 so join the adventure!"

For Immediate Release - August 1st, 2011

Touchstone the five-piece rock band with prog/rock/alternative influences have signed an exclusive long term World Wide deal with SPV Records covering new recordings and three back catalogue recordings.
Their much-anticipated new album, The City Sleeps, is due to be released on 10th October 2011 on SPV's Steamhammer label.

The release of the new album will be supported by a UK tour in October 2011 with European dates to be announced and a US Tour planned for the second half of 2012.
Founding band member, Rob Cottingham, said in a statement: "TOUCHSTONE are delighted to be signed to SPV's Steamhammer label for the release of our new album, The City Sleeps. SPV/Steamhammer has a long tradition of highly successful rock bands and for the band we see this as the next natural step up for us to reach a broader rock market, across a more global geography. We are very grateful to Frank Uhle, Del Taylor and the SPV team for their fantastic support and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship".

In this exciting new album, the band venture into familiar 'Touchstone Rock' territory with the dynamic, moving epics: The City Sleeps, and When Shadows Fall. The City Sleeps is a sequel to the title track of Touchstone's previous album, Wintercoast and we can exclusively reveal that Anna-Marie Wayne, actress and daughter of Jeff Wayne, adds her substantial voice-over talent to the title track. When Shadows Fall is a sequel to the track Shadow from Touchstone's first album,
Discordant Dreams, and picks up a few decades later. There are also some exciting departures for the band venturing into the more melodic rock areas. And then there is the downright crazy in Good Boy Psycho, where the mental twists and turns of this psychotic rollercoaster of a track leave you gasping for breath!

All the music is written by Touchstone, with lyrics by Rob Cottingham and Kim Seviour, and the City Sleeps concept and narrative written by Adam Hodgson, who also designed the album artwork.

"TOUCHSTONE are proud and delighted to announce that for their UK Album Launch Tour in October 2011, they will be accompanied by an extremely special guest - Heather Findlay.

Heather will be performing an acoustic set, with guitarist, Chris Johnson as a prelude to her full band headline shows currently being planned for November 2011.
Apart from being a stunning musician in her own right, Heather won many admirers around the globe for her work with Mostly Autumn as lead singer, song-writer and multi-instrumentalist. Heather performed her last gig with Mostly Autumn on 2nd April 2010 after a very successful thirteen years with the band.

On 25th April Heather will be releasing her debut solo record The Phoenix Suite EP, on Black Sand Records which will be available from all the usual outlets. The Phoenix Suite cover features artwork by Heather herself and following a nine minute sell-out of the limited collector’s edition, pre-release copies of the standard edition of The Phoenix Suite are available now exclusively from the store at Heather's website where you’ll also find a promo film featuring excerpts from the EP.

TOUCHSTONE would like to put on record their profound thanks to Heather for her kindness and generosity in agreeing to support their tour. The band is greatly looking forward to sharing a stage with Heather for what will be a fantastic album launch experience.

This TOUCHSTONE Tour is in association with Lycan Media.

TOUCHSTONE are absolutely delighted to announce that they are now on the roster of the well-known and highly-regarded Factory Music.

In a statement, Touchstone founding member Rob Cottingham said:

"This is a superb 'next step' for the band. It is part of a planned strategy for this year which is to set up a management infrastructure to help take Touchstone to the next level; to gear us up in readiness for gigs and festivals and the release of our third album in 2011 - and of course to take us even further in the medium to long term. We will be looked after by Mik Gaffney, who I have known since 2006 when he was at distributor, Proper Music. Mik has always been one of the most professional guys I have dealt with. He has also been a big supporter of Touchstone, and has seen us grow from a fresh-faced four-track EP band in 2006 when we were testing the water, so to speak, to where we are now - double live US album; great reviews; High Voltage, wonderful fan-base etc. Having had a long conversation with Mik, I'm pleased to report that he is absolutely buzzing with ideas! Adam, Moo, Kim, Henry and I want to sincerely thank Sharon and Mik at Factory for their belief in us and their fantastic support - we are all very excited to see what opportunities Factory can bring to the Touchstone table!"

Factory Music's Mik Gaffney stated:

"I have watched Touchstone build and develop into one of the UK's finest new rock bands. They have a very 'can do' attitude, an outlook that landed them the opening slot at this year's prestigious High Voltage festival. I've long admired the band's hands on approach to their career and look forward to being part of the next phase."

The company is also unusual in the fact that it owns its own business premises.

Whilst Plastic Head carries a diverse range of music and DVD titles, it is known for being a specialist in rock genres.

In a statement, founding band member Rob Cottingham said: “I would like to thank all at Proper Music for their help during the last two and a half years. As the band has grown, however, so the time has come to set up a distribution structure more geared to the market we are in. We are, therefore, absolutely delighted to have hooked up with Steve and Plastic Head as Touchstone’s main distributor. When you see that they distribute for the likes of Asia, Deep Purple, ELP, Focus, Foreigner, Marillion,  Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree and Rush to name but a few - you can probably imagine how pleased we are to start distributing via a channel more focussed on the rock market. We believe this will help take us to the next level in terms of distribution, and therefore album sales. The whole band are excited by this development, and we are greatly looking forward to working with Steve, Ben and David to help push the band’s name to territories anew.”

Steve Beatty, founder of Plastic Head, commented: “The Touchstone catalogue is yet another great rock band and label joining our ever growing roster of top quality rock music at Plastic Head. We look forward greatly to a long and solid rock relationship with this exciting band and label.”

TOUCHSTONE announce very special guest at the Saturday ‘Ye Olde Londinium’ Christmas Concert

After what can only be described as one of  ‘the’ prog gigs of 2008 on Saturday 2nd February at the Peel when two bands blew the roof off in perfect harmony - TOUCHSTONE are massively delighted to announce the “Ultimate Reunion Xmas Bash” with some great friends.

TINYFISH will be the Very Special Guests at Ye Olde Londinium Christmas Show on Saturday 11th December at the Peel in Kingston Upon Thames.

In a statement Rob said: “We are absolutely delighted that Simon and the boys will join us on stage again at the Peel. That 2008 gig was for us one of our hot favourites, not just because of the music, but also the chemistry between the two bands. This will be one heck of a barnstormer of a gig!”

In a statement Simon said: “Playing alongside Touchstone back in 2008 was a very special experience for us all in Tinyfish as we feel they are easily one of the best bands in the UK right now. It will be an absolute honour and a pleasure to share a stage with them all again and I have no doubts that it will be a belter of a show.”
This really is a festive, fun-filled, prog-packed party not to be missed!

“TOUCHSTONE are pleased to announce that, whilst they will be searching for a replacement drummer over the next few months, it has been agreed that Henry Rogers (DeeExpus, Final Conflict) will stand in as drummer on a temporary basis until a permanent drummer is found. This enables us to continue with our preparations for our gigs at The Horn, and High Voltage Festival, in July.  The band would like to thank Henry, DeeExpus, and Final Conflict for their kind support and friendship. In terms of a permanent replacement, the band are presently advertising for a new drummer and will make an announcement in due course once auditions are completed.”

TOUCHSTONE wish to announce an amicable parting of the ways with drummer, Alasdair Melville.

Al joined the band in January 2007. It has more recently become clear that Al wishes to move into a different creative direction from that being followed by the band.

In a statement Rob said: “ I met Al when we were auditioning and took on Simon Cook as drummer some 5 years ago. I always kept in touch as I recognized a superb raw talent there. When Simon left – I was delighted that Al joined. Since then it has been an absolute honour and a privilege to share the stage and studio with Al , and to see him grow as a drummer in the last three and a half years. We have all had some fun for sure, having toured the UK, been out to the US and produced two cracking albums together. I believe he has a very bright future in the rock world, and look forward to seeing him ascend the drumming heights. Whilst it is with mixed emotions that we make this announcement,  Al leaves Touchstone with much love, respect, and support from all it’s band members.”
In a statement Al said: “ Touchstone have been my family, my brothers and sister for a long time now, and moving away from your family is never an easy undertaking.  Forty live shows, two albums, two tours and the brilliant friends we have made along the way means that this period of my career is one that I will always cherish.  I fully support Touchstone in finding a replacement for me, and in their bright future as one of the best new British progressive rock acts on offer.  It is easy to sound false and insincere in these situations, but all fans of Touchstone, whether you've been with us for 10 years or 10 minutes, please rest assured that there is no animosity and we are still the very best of friends. Thank you to Rob, Adam, Moo and Kim, and to our dedicated fans for all your support through good times and bad.  See you down the front.”

Rob, Adam, Moo and Kim wish to put on record their sincere gratitude for Al's contribution and they wish him the very best of good fortune in his future musical career. The band are keen to point out that this will in no way impact future band commitments.

They also wish to put on record their thanks to Al for offering to cover future gigs if required.

The band will announce further once a replacement has been found.

On Monday 6th October at the Komedia in Brighton, Touchstone took to the stage supporting It Bites for the last gig of nine gigs and after eleven nights away on road.  They had played Islington, Leeds, Cardiff, Birkenhead, Newcastle, Nottingham, Manchester, Bilston and finally Brighton.
To say that the reaction during the tour was humbling would be an understatement. People who had never even heard of the band were generous with their comments and enthusiasm during the tour, and were also very generous in purchasing merchandise, which all helped fund the tour.
Quotes from the general public noted down during the tour:
"The best support act I've seen since It Bites supported Robert Plant"
"The best support act I've ever seen - you guys were amazing"
"You guys have just blown me away - I really didn't expect that from a support act - awesome."
John Mitchell thanked the band during the Brighton IB set and asked the crowd what they thought of Touchstone, to many enthusiastic cheers.
Touchstone in turn would like to thank John, John, Bob and Lee from It Bites for the privilege of touring with them; the fun they all enjoyed together along the way, as well as the great performances each night by IB.
Touchstone would also like to thank everyone who came along to support the tour out in the crowd. They would also like to thank especially their road crew, Ralph, Dave, Glen and Elliot, for being absolute stars, and IB Stage Manager Paddy Darlington for his superb support. - Click Here to see a tour picture comp all pictures by Elliot Haughin

Touchstone's label sign new major UK distribution deal

TOUCHSTONE are proud to announce a new major UK distribution agreement between the band's own independent label, Heavy Right Foot Records, and Proper Music – see
Proper Music is the the largest independent distributor in the UK - providing top quality distribution services to over 400 labels from around the world supplying UK retailers and export accounts. They were nominated in Feb 2008 for "Best Distributor" in the 2008 Music Week Awards – amongst the likes of EMI and Universal Records – see

This agreement will open up distribution across the whole of the UK including such stores as HMV and Virgin.

Rob said: "I have been in discussions with Mik Gaffney, the Rock Label Manager, since Mad Hatters was released. Proper thought it was a great EP, but – from a business perspective - the opportunity to agree terms was always going to have to wait until our first album was out. Thankfully, Mik and all at Proper loved Discordant Dreams  - and indeed felt it was a 'step up'. I'm pleased we have reached agreement, and would like to thank Mik and all at Proper Music for their continued interest, patience and support.  We all look forward to working with Mik and the crew to spread the Touchstone gospel around the UK retailers, UK exporters and, of course, the UK rock press. This is a great springboard to broaden the band's distribution of Discordant Dreams, as well as a solid foundation upon which to release our up and coming studio album which will be out, all being well, around late Spring 2009. Work is coming along on that thick and fast, with all band members contributing in a major way to what we hope will be our best work yet.

Thanks must also go to someone we regard as part of the Touchstone family now - Ralph Rea of Lycan Media for his continued professional advice and support, during this process.

Thanks also to Susan Clark for the initial introduction to Proper, which came about as a result of her passion and enthusiasm for our music."

On Thursday 10th January, Touchstone played to a well-attended Horn in St Albans, and this was the first outing of a brand new set - as well as Rob's brand new Virus keyboard.
The set was well-received and the band also enjoyed watching their mates The Scratch and The Harringtons perform, also.

Discordant Dreams wins album of the year 2007 at Sonicbond. Thanks to all who voted for us

Touchstone Discordant Dreams reaches number 1 best seller for 3 weeks @ Sonic Bond - November 2007. Check it out here.

After some delays due to busy schedules all round - we are proud to at last announce our new improved web-site in readiness for 2008! Please write to us and tell us what you think – and how you would like us to improve it going forward! A lot of hard work has gone into the site, so we just want to say a massive thank you to Adem for all his hard work!

Discordant Dreams has been Sonicbond's best seller for many weeks – see – and if you don't have the album – please buy it and keep Touchstone at the top of that list!

After some months enforced sabbatical due to band house moves, Touchstone were delighted to play to a sold out audience at The Horn, St Albans on the 23 November 2007, with some fans travelling from far as wide as Birmingham, Nottingham and even Turin! The Horn have asked the band to come back in January and play again after such great feedback!

At the next gigs on 10th January in St Albans and 19th January in Southend, there will be very much a party atmosphere as both dates are around Rob and Adam's birthdays!

The band have been in rehearsals on a brand new set with some twists – come along and see what we mean! Adam commented: "This new set even blew me away – I cannot wait to get out there and blow people's socks off!"

In the recently released December 2007 Classic Rock Society magazine the band is mentioned in six different articles –see especially the review of the album and the review of Touchstone's headliner at Montgomery Hall, which you an see in the Press page.

The album has now been played on the famous Polish station MLWZ, and reviewed by well know Metal Hammer reviewer extraordinaire, Artur Chachlowski. A translation of the review will be added soon to this website! (And we have no idea what he said yet!) See

After upping sticks and moving house and studio to Milton Keynes, Rob has added a new exciting addition to his live keyboard rig – an addition which even surprised him! He commented: "I was looking for a one keyboard live solution, and having tried this out with a well known workstation - reverted back to the trusty Kurzweil PC2 and Korg Triton Studio combo as we were just not getting the 'oomph' that the band needed, sound-wise. I was also after an 'unslaved' keyboard to satisfy some of the lead solos, and having tried several out, literally stumbled across the Access Virus TI by accident. It was not on my shortlist, but there it was blinking away in the store and I thought I'd give it some stick – and it blew me away! So I've now ended up with a three-keyboard live solution! Which means more stage space (sorry fellow band-mates). Not quite the idea, but – what the hey!"

In response, and not wishing to be outgunned on the gear front by his partner-in-melodic-crime, Adam had the impulsive urge to go out and buy himself yet another superb Music Man guitar to keep up. In a revealing conversation Adam said: 'Don't tell the wife – she'll kill me…'. Rumours that he has gone missing recently and that the remains of his guitar case were washed up on a beach in Seaton Carew are wildly exaggerated…rumours that he suffers selective amnesia are however entirely correct.

In a totally unrelated gear lust incident – wonder-boy and power-drummer Al has replaced a cymbal in his gear with a shiny new Zildjian. Al commented: 'I love it – it's splashing'.

Elkie is due to have a photoshoot very soon, so we are looking forward to seeing the results and placing some examples on the website for all you Elkie fans

In a recent development Moo (bassist, Paul Moorghen) said (and we quote) : " Moo…" – this is to be investigated further…

Has not happened yet - however, plans are afoot to tour in 2008, video to be filmed, live album to be made and as soon as we have more, we'll let you know…watch this space…
